Preparation Steps
- Add a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil to a large skillet over medium high heat. Add stew beef and toss to brown. You don't need to cook it through. Just cook it enough to give it some color.
- Add the stew beef, mushrooms, onion, butter, garlic, beef broth, salt, and pepper to a 6 to 8 quart slow cooker. Stir to combine.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6 hours or HIGH for 4 hours. Serve hot.
Notes
This hearty dish is perfect served with mashed potatoes or rice for a complete meal.
