  • 3 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes 14.5 oz, undrained
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper

Preparation Steps
  1. Place the beef chuck roast in the slow cooker.
  2. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, diced tomatoes (with juice), and beef broth to the slow cooker.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Sprinkle the spice mixture over the beef.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the beef is tender and easily shreds.
  5. Remove the beef from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks. Return the shredded beef to the slow cooker and stir to coat with the sauce.
  6. Serve the shredded beef as desired.

Notes

This beef is versatile and can be used in many dishes. For best results, cook on low for a longer period.
