  • 0.25 cup vegetable oil
  • 0.75 cup sugar
  • 0.25 ounce active dry yeast
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 sticks butter (melted)
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 1.5 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 2.5 cups finely chopped pecans

Preparation Steps
  1. Heat the milk, vegetable oil, and sugar in a saucepan until warm but not boiling. Let it cool slightly.
  2. Sprinkle the yeast over the warm milk mixture and let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  3. Add the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; stir until combined.
  4. Knead in the remaining flour and melted butter until dough is smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F. Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
  6. Spread melted butter over the dough, then sprinkle with cinnamon, sugar, and pecans.
  7. Roll up the dough tightly and cut into 1/2-inch slices. Arrange in a baking dish.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes until golden brown. Glaze with icing if desired.
