  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1.5 tsp kosher salt
  • 0.5 tsp ground black pepper
  • 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 28 ounces diced tomatoes (undrained)
  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups half and half
  • 1 pound ziti (uncooked)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.25 cup parmesan cheese (finely grated)
  • 0.1 parsley (for garnish)

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a 9x13 inch baking dish, combine garlic, oregano, basil, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, ricotta, and half and half. Mix well.
  3. Add the uncooked ziti to the mixture and stir until evenly coated. Gently press down the pasta so it is mostly covered.
  4. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 50 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven, uncover, and sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheese on top. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
