  • 0.5 cup light brown sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.6667 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 large apple, peeled and finely chopped

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Grease and flour a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
  3. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl and set aside.
  4. In a stand mixer, combine white sugar and butter until smooth.
  5. Add eggs and vanilla and continue to beat on medium speed until combined.
  6. Add flour and baking powder, then milk, and mix until smooth.
  7. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan.
  8. Spread half of the chopped apples over the batter.
  9. Pat apples into batter with the back of a spoon.
  10. Sprinkle with half of the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  11. Pour the remaining batter over the apple layer.
  12. Top with remaining apples and sprinkle with more cinnamon sugar.
  13. Pat toppings into the batter with the back of a large spoon and swirl lightly.
  14. Bake for 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  15. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
